Joe Smith has a BA in Accounting from Western Illinois University. After initially working for a CPA firm, Joe has worked in the search industry since 1981. Prior to forming Smith and Syberg, Joe served as the Vice President of a large search firm in Indianapolis.

Leadership roles have included: Rotary (Club President, Assistant District Governor), Indiana CPA Society, Columbus Park Foundation, Turning Point Domestic Violence Services, Child Abuse Prevention Council, United Way, and several local educational and youth organizations.

Keith Syberg has a BA in Communications and a MA in Educational Administration from Truman State University. His early career was focused in university administration, culminating as a Vice President of Student Services. Keith began his career in executive search in 1984, when he joined a large Indianapolis search firm, where he later became the Director over the Retained Search Division.

Leadership roles have included: Association for Manufacturing Excellence/ AME (Chairman), Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce (Board of Directors), and the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
