General Manager

Our client, a growing company in the micro tool market, seeks a General Manager to direct a single-site manufacturing operation located in the Boston, Massachusetts/ Providence, Rhode Island area. Company employs 35 people and has sales of approximately $8 million. Parent company is a $1 billion company with worldwide employment of 5,000 employees.

The Position

• Reports to the Strategic Business Unit President.
• Responsible for meeting corporate objectives, specifically driving profitable growth.
• Manage policy deployment in the areas of lean manufacturing, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls, and plant performance measures.
• Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
• Identify, communicate, and drive implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a related manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of plant management experience.
• Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
• Experience from a lean environment practicing world class manufacturing techniques.
• Additional experience at the general manager level, including sales and marketing or full P&L, is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including communication, floor oriented, teamwork, growth oriented, and listening skills.
