Current Assignment
PLANT MANAGER
Our client recently celebrated its 100th anniversary as a leader in the flow
control industry. This is a private company with over $500 million in sales and
multiple facilities located in North America and Europe. The Plant Manager will
oversee a team-oriented, non-union facility located in the Shenandoah Valley of
Virginia.
The Position
- Reports to the Vice President of Manufacturing.
- Responsible for all aspects of this 325-employee, $100 million facility.
- Senior management team includes Operations, Engineering, Finance and
Materials, Facilities/Tooling/Maintenance, Human Resources, and Safety.
- Key targets for 2008 include cost reduction and the integration of small
diameter press products that are currently outsourced.
- Provide functional and strategic leadership.
- Identify customer requirements and ensure needs are being exceeded.
- Champion the culture through the Vision, Values, and Critical Success
Factors.
- Coach and develop staff.
- Prepare annual budget and rolling forecast.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and
regulations.
- Develop effective community relations and serve as the principal
spokesperson for the company in the community.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10-15 years of manufacturing experience, including a
minimum of 3 years experience as a Plant or Operations Manager.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience with a Lean and/or Six Sigma manufacturing culture.
- Prefer a strong understanding of inventory management.
- Experience from a manufacturing culture with a strong focus on
safety.
- Foundry and/or metal products background helpful.
- Approachable leader able to communicate with all levels of the
plant.
